We’re excited to launch Firmware 5.7, which introduces powerful enhancements across the Algo portfolio to improve visual communication, simplify scheduling and automation, expand API-driven workflows, support secure third-party integrations, and unlock new functionality for the Algo 8450 IP Console. Overview: What’s New in Firmware 5.7?

This release gives customers more flexibility and control across Algo deployments, from managing scheduled events and visual notifications to enabling more advanced alerting, paging, and integration workflows.

  • Advanced Display Experiences: Firmware 5.7 expands visual communication capabilities across the Algo portfolio, including new weather display functionality, animated GIF support, full-screen images, caller information, InformaCast text notifications, and custom API action responses.
  • Improved Scheduling & Automation: New scheduling capabilities make it easier to manage events, skip or restore schedules, schedule API events, and support Internet radio streams across compatible Algo devices.
  • Enhanced Third-Party Integration Support: OAuth authentication support, expanded InformaCast and Dialcast functionality, and API actions that can be combined with other actions provide more options for connecting Algo devices into third-party platforms and notification workflows.
  • Expanded API Capabilities: Firmware 5.7 adds new API functionality for scheduled events, emergency alerts, display messaging, audio management, DTMF tones, file checksums, timed actions, and more advanced automation workflows.
  • New 8450 IP Console Functionality: The Algo 8450 IP Console gains new ways to view and manage schedules, display visual content, show weather information, view live intercom feeds, support InformaCast text notifications, and customize screen behavior.

General Enhancements 

All  

  • OAuth authentication support enables secure integrations with third-party platforms. 
  • “Use Separate Multicast” setting now available for Stream Mic Audio actions. 

All Except 8373, 8450, 8401, 8402, 8300 

  • Firmware support for 1211 and 1212 Panic Buttons added to Input/Output settings.  

All Except Intercoms, 8373, 8300 

  • Input relays and emergency alerts can now trigger API actions on initiation and completion alongside other actions.  
  • Emergency Alerts now have an interval field to specify number of seconds between looped audio tones.  
  • Secondary SNMP traps with unique OID value now available on relay release. 
  • Second incoming call can now pre-empt an active ringing call.  
  • Supervision now available for 1202 Call Button. 

All PoE+ Products 

IP Console (8450) 

  • View schedules from a connected 8301 or 8305 device and skip or restore scheduled events directly from the 8450 screen. 
  • InformaCast support for additional Dialcast configurations and the ability to display InformaCast text notifications on the 8450 screen. 
  • Show full-screen images or animated GIFs using the Show Image button action. 
  • Animated GIFs now supported on lock screen. 
  • Display custom success and failure messages or full screen images for Send API Request button actions. 
  • Display current weather information (USA & Canada) on screen.
  • View live intercom feed from Algo 8039 intercoms on the 8450 screen.
  • “Play Until Stopped Remotely” option now available for Start Emergency Alert button action. 
  • Access a dial pad during calls to enable entry of DTMF tones.
  • Added “+” option to SIP dial pad to enable dialing of extensions containing “+”.  
  • Outbound page timeout controls added for One-Way Mic Multicast button actions.  
  • Customize or remove the navigation bar on specific 8450 screens. 

IP Displays (8410 & 8420) 

  • Overlay weather information (USA & Canada) on slides or slideshows. Includes three new weather templates: Current Conditions, Hourly Forecast, and Weekly Forecast. 
  • Animated GIF support for slides and displays.
  • Customize InformaCast text behavior, font, size, position, and colors. 
  • Display caller name and/or extension directly on screen.

Paging Adapters (8301, 8305, 8373) 

  • New Scheduler interface with added support for events with no end dates and the ability to skip or restore events and groups. Also allows scheduling of API events and scheduled Internet radio streams. (8301 & 8305)
  • Stream radio from an online radio stream URL and multicast the audio to receiving devices. Includes ability to set an offline music file to loop in case of network disruption. (8301 & 8305)
  • Added detection for analog phone ringing. (8305)
  • Added option to play delayed page twice to match existing functionality of 8301 and 8305 paging adapters. (8373) 
  • Added option to play a DTMF tone before starting page announcements. (8301 & 8305)
  • Configurable DTMF tone durations now available including short (40ms) and long (1s). (8301 & 8305). 

Wall Speakers (8190 & 8190S)

  • “Off” option added for strobe flash pattern. (8190s) 
  • Front button can now trigger play tone, SIP call with tone, stream mic audio, send API request, and send SNMP trap actions. (8190 and 8190s) 

API 

  • Create and manage scheduled events.
  • Push text to IP displays without changing the active slide.
  • Upload, play, and delete audio using a single API command.
  • Specify an “interval” parameter for start tone endpoint to allow for silence between iterations when loop is enabled.
  • Activate and cancel emergency alerts remotely via API.
  • Include DTMF tone parameter when initiating calls.
  • Retrieve MD5 checksums for files in the device’s file manager.
  • Specify a “duration” parameter for start tone and strobe endpoints and a “stopAfter” parameter for start screen endpoints to automatically stop the action after the specified number of seconds. 

Note: API actions using basic authentication configured without proper authentication will no longer function after upgrading. Configurations must be updated to include valid authentication.
