IP Enable Legacy Environments with Algo Paging Adapters
Algo IP Paging Adapters seamlessly bridge VoIP to analog paging environments. Compatible with over 60 UC and VoIP systems, Algo paging adapters can deliver effective IP communication through analog amplifiers and speakers.
Bridge VoIP to Analog Paging with Algo IP Paging Adapters
Algo paging adapters bring VoIP to analog paging environments simply and effectively. Acting as a bridge between the VoIP system and legacy PA infrastructure, paging adapters enable organizations to broadcast voice paging across establishments of any size.
Algo IP Paging Adapters provide balanced line outputs and connect directly with legacy amplifiers. When receiving a SIP call, Algo’s adapters translate the message to a format that is understood by analog amplifiers. Thus, legacy speakers are able to play the SIP message.
With Algo’s paging adapters, organizations can leverage the various capabilities and features of Algo paging systems. Some key features include multicast, wideband audio capability, and calendaring functionality.
Explore the list of other key features.
Algo’s solution to deliver SIP to analog paging gateways is a cost-saving solution. Organizations are able to retain legacy paging systems by using one or many Algo paging adapters.
Choosing a Paging Adapter
Selecting the right paging system is a matter of the needs of the environment. Algo’s paging adapters are flexible and allow for easy scalability within most leading UC and VoIP environments. Algo has two options for bringing SIP to legacy paging systems:
- Single Zoned Amplifier
- Multi-Zoned Amplifier
The 8301 IP Paging Adapter is Algo’s straightforward solution for bridging SIP to analog paging gateways. With a dry page output, the 8301 provides a seamless connection to a traditional amplifier. Organizations commonly deploy the 8301 to migrate VoIP to analog paging systems.
With the 8301, a message can be broadcast through a SIP channel and is then delivered over analog speakers. As paging adapters deploy in a one-to-one ratio, with one adapter per legacy amplifier, large environments may need to install multiple 8301 devices. In such cases, the 8301 acts as either a multicast sender or receiver as assigned, ensuring communication is reached across entire buildings or enterprises.
The 8373 IP Zone Paging Adapter is Algo’s solution for multi-zone applications. Where a traditional zoned amplifier is in use, the 8373 deploys in the environment to retain the existing zone channels while delivering VoIP to analog paging. The dry page output of the 8373 connects to zoned amplifiers enabling organizations to retain legacy channels created.
Typically, legacy amplifiers account for three zones. The 8373 configures up to three legacy channels through the page ports. However, leveraging multicast, the device can expand an environment to cover more areas. When a SIP call is transmitted via multicast, one or multiple 8373 devices listen to the line and play the notification across the respective channels as configured. The channel control relay activates based on the SIP extension dialed, multicast IP address received, or telephone DTMF keypad input.

Creating Hybrid Environments
A hybrid environment consists of both IP endpoints and legacy devices. Organizations choosing to expand their environment with additions to buildings may deploy Algo IP Endpoints with existing legacy infrastructure. Configuring an Algo Paging Adapter as the multicast sender enables organizations to easily and effectively schedule voice paging and notifications to play across both legacy and IP devices.
