Algo IP endpoints are deployed extensively in hospitals for public address IP voice paging, notification, patient monitoring and premise security.

As for many industries, migration to a new premise or cloud VoIP telephone system in an existing facility is often the reason for a review of the paging infrastructure or at least the telephone integration. Algo 8301 paging adapters can be registered with all leading premise and cloud VoIP platforms using the SIP protocol including Avaya, Cisco, Mitel and many others. The 8301 paging adapter can provide an analog feed to an existing analog paging amplifier as well as send an IP multicast over the network to any other 8301s.

For large hospitals with multiple amplifiers and even multiple buildings can easily utilize an existing network to distribute paging signals wherever they are needed. New hospitals can also consider the option of deploying IP speakers which offer full supervision, improved speech intelligibility, ambient noise response and remote management.

An IP enabled paging system and/or IP speakers can provide much more functionality then just voice paging. With no additional cost, the paging system can also provide emergency alerting and pre-recorded announcements specific to any or all areas of the hospital, time of day or day of week, and activated by almost any means including any telephone or device connected to the UC platform.

One hospital deployed the 8188 IP speaker in psychiatric holding rooms for two-way communication with patients. A feature that triggers a phone call from the speaker was activated so that any loud noise detected by the speaker initiated a call to a phone located at a nursing station.

The very first 8036 IP Multimedia Intercom shipped in 2012 was deployed in a hospital for securing access to an elevator which provided access to the NICU. Parents arriving to visit their child used the 8036 to call staff in the unit who could then verify the identity of the visitors using video sent to their phone and remotely unlock the access door using the phone keypad.
