Algo 4900 USB ATA Configuration Tool
This page provides a program that allows Algo 4900 USB ATA customers to configure their ATA with regional settings for use with North American, European, Australian and New Zealand telephones. It also provides firmware upgrade capabilities to update existing units to support these features, if necessary.
To download and install this Configuration Tool, please follow the step-by-step process below.
STEP 1 - Download the Configuration Tool File
Click on the link at the bottom of this page. Then save the file to your PC desktop (or other preferred location).
STEP 2 - Connect the 4900 USB ATA
Connect the USB ATA to an available USB port on your PC.
Important: Ensure that no other Nortel USB Headset products are connected. Also ensure that the IP Softphone 2050 is already installed on this PC.
STEP 3 - Run the Configuration Tool & Upgrade ATA firmware if required
Run the program by double-clicking the file that you just downloaded. The software should detect the USB ATA, and will then check whether or not the current firmware on the USB ATA supports regional settings. If the correct firmware is not detected, an option will appear to allow the installation of this firmware before proceeding.
STEP 4 – Select Desired Setting
Four possible configurations are available:
- North America
- Europe 1
- Europe 2
- Australia & New Zealand
These settings allow the ATA to communicate properly with telephones designed for use on different international networks. Note that a mechanical adapter may still be required if the connector on your telephone does not fit the jack on the USB ATA.
