To download the firmware file (provided in .HEX format), click on the link at the bottom of this page, then follow the instructions below for the type of browser you are using:
After clicking the link, a "File Download" box will display. Click "Save". The "Save As" dialog box will then open, allowing you to choose the location where to save the .HEX file.
Note: In order to prevent the browser from adding an extension such as ".txt" to the firmware file, ensure that the "Save as type" setting in the "Save As" dialog box is set to "All Files".
After clicking the link, a dialog box will display asking what to do with the file. Choose "Save to Disk", then click "OK". The file will be downloaded to the default download directory set up for the browser.
Open the default download directory by clicking the folder icon beside "All files downloaded to:" The download directory opens. Click on the file you just downloaded then select "Move this File" under File and Folder Tasks. The "Move Items" dialog box opens.
It is important to saved the firmware file into the proper folder on your computer as the Algo Call Recorder Software (either ECR or CCR) will look for it there in order to upgrade the Algo hardware.
In the "Save As" (or "Move Items") dialog box, navigate to the following folder location:
C:\Program Files\AuxBox\V2.1\Firmware\4105
Once you have found the correct location, click "Save". When the download is complete, click "Close" to close the window.
The final step in upgrading your Algo firmware is to upload the firmware file from your PC to the Algo hardware. To do this, choose Tools - AuxBox Maintenance from the Algo Call Recorder Software (CCR or ECR), then follow the instructions to complete the process. Note that the recording system operation will need to be temporarily interrupted to complete this step.
