A large automotive parts manufacturer uses the Algo 1072 Noise Cancelling Adapter to drastically improve the clarity of messages sent over their emergency intercom system. According to Jeff Wolstenholme, a Systems Integrator with Team Electronics, the noise cancelling adapter effectively eliminates background noise at the originating Meridian telephone handset, allowing clear and understandable messages to be transmitted throughout the factory.
"The plant is full of very loud metal processing machines and the background noise levels can often exceed 90 decibels", says Jeff. Jeff adds that for safety reasons, an emergency telephone is located on the factory floor in close proximity to these machines. However, when the phone was used to make an announcement over the intercom system, all that was heard was the sound of the machines. "The announcements themselves were completely unintelligible.”
According to Jeff, the company had looked for about six months and tried a number of other solutions before contacting Team Electronics and finding out about the 1072. “Now, background noise is no longer an issue and the operators can use the phone even when the machines are operating full bore”, says Jeff. “The unit was easy to install and works flawlessly.”
