8128 SIP Strobe Light

IP Strobe Light for Telephone, Security, Safety & Emergency Alerting

The 8128 SIP Strobe Light (G2) is the next generation of this popular Algo endpoint for notification and alerting. The strobe light has upgraded hardware capable of running the latest security and encryption standards, including TLS & SRTP, ensuring secure communication with hosted SIP providers.

Designed to include all the features of the original 8128, the G2 release also includes a number of new features including enhanced multicast options, use of Algo buttons, and dedicated "Emergency Alert" extensions similar to other Algo SIP endpoints such as the 8180(G2)/8190 wall mount speakers, 8186 horn speaker, 8188/8189 ceiling speakers and 8301 Paging Adapter.

Please Note: As this G2 release now runs on a new hardware platform, note that the firmware files are different compared to the original 8128. An original 8128 can therefore not use the G2 firmware. For assistance migrating provisioning files for this new device, please contact Algo support.

The product overview below is in reference to the G2 hardware release. The orderable part no. for the product remains as ‘8128’.

The 8128 is a SIP compliant IP strobe light. This endpoint is PoE, using LED's designed for alerting and notification of telephone, emergency, safety and security events (e.g., OSHA, ADA). The strobe features 16 configurable flash patterns/intensities and four color options to suit any application, particularly in noisy or noise sensitive environments.

The high intensity LEDs of the 8128 provide extended life over Xenon type strobes, and more luminance with less energy. The strobe supports multicasting, and can be deployed in any number for mass notification applications (e.g. weather evacuation, workplace safety or security notification, etc.). The 8128 can be combined with all variety of Algo IP endpoint speakers and paging adapters to provide a comprehensive audible and visual alerting solution, whether for small or large enterprise / campus applications. The 8128 supports RTP multicast, in addition to Polycom Group Page and InformaCast.Algo 8128 IP Strobe Light for Telephone, Safety, Security and Emergency Alerting

The 8128 strobe light registers as a 3rd party SIP endpoint with most hosted / cloud or premise VoIP telephone systems. For multiple strobe deployments, additional devices do not require a SIP license. A single registered strobe can be configured to multicast to any number and mix of additional Algo speakers, strobes and/or paging adapters as required, providing cost effective scalability using a minimum of network traffic. Multicast zones can be easily configured when combined with Algo speakers and paging adapters.

360 x 180 visibility and flash pattern options make these strobes suitable to mount on a wall or ceiling.

Emergency Notification Alerting

For notification alerting there are two activation options available - dial an extension or connect a button to the speaker's relay input. Up to 10 Emergency Alert extensions are available to register in the 8128 allowing for different types of alerts to be visually activated (e.g., lockdown, evacuation, shelter, all clear, etc.). Elven(11) flash patterns are available to choose from. A Call To Cancel feature is available to allow the emergency alert to play continuously for the duration of the event, if desired. Alternatively, the alert can be configured to play for the duration of the WAV file.

Algo 1202 Call ButtonAny button providing a contact closure, including the Algo 1202 and 1203, can be wired to the strobe light as an alternative option for emergency alerting. Three configuration options are available to configure on the relay input:

  • Multicast an alert
  • Call a target extension and play a discrete WAV file
  • Call a target extension and have a two-way call via the speaker's microphone

Any combination and number of Algo IP endpoints can be configured as a multicast for emergency alerting to cover any size room, building, campus or enterprise.

  • Network managed and supervised SIP and multicast endpoint
