Using the 4900 with Nortel 1100-series IP Phones

The 4900 USB ATA has been tested and found to be compatible with the following Nortel 1100-series IP Phones: 

• 1120E
• 1140E
• 1150E

Note: Minimum firmware required on the 1100-series phones is UniStim 3.1.

Setup

To use the 4900 USB ATA with an 1100-series IP Phone: 

1. Set up a powered USB Hub between the phone and the ATA. The hub is required because the phones do not provide sufficient power from their own USB port.
2. Set the "Headset type" setting on the phone to "USB" instead of "Wired". To do this:
   
   
   • Double-press the Services key on the IP Phone, then select Preferences
   • Select Headsets
   • Under Active Headset Device, select USB then press the Apply key to save the changes to the phone
