Small Business Analog Telephone Recorder Saves Time and Increases Communication Effectiveness
Independent marketing consultant Rick Schellenberg uses the Algo 4105 Analog AuxBox telephone call recorder in his small business home office to record important business conversations and to conduct marketing research. According to Schellenberg, the 4105 helps him save time and greatly improves the effectiveness of his client and business communications.
The struggle: phone taps and tape recorders
Several years ago, Schellenberg was struggling to find an effective solution for recording conversations for a marketing study he was conducting. “I ended up buying a phone tap and a tape recorder”, said Schellenberg. “It wasn't a great solution. Not only did the phone tap add a very noticeable hum to the telephone line, but retrieving, reviewing, and archiving the recorded conversations was a real pain.”
The solution: PC-based call recording with the 4105
With the Algo 4105 Analog AuxBox, Schellenberg says recording calls is extremely easy and quiet. What he appreciates most, though, is how easily and quickly he can review and retrieve calls on his PC. “I can usually find a call record in a few seconds, even if the conversation was months ago”, says Schellenberg.
Other features that Schellenberg appreciates is the ability to record calls from any telephone in the home, including calls on his cordless phone. "It was so easy to install - I just plugged into one jack and now I can record from any phone in the house".
Schellenberg especially likes the record-on-demand feature. “With record-on-demand, I can decide at any time during a call whether to keep a record of it. If I decide to keep it, I just press a number key on my telephone and the whole conversation is recorded from start to finish. It's great - and it gives me time to ask the other party's permission before I begin recording.”
In addition to the call recording features, Schellenberg also utilizes the 4105's ability to detect and transmit call events. For this, he uses the Algo 1127 Visual Alerter (which plugs into the 4105) to provide a bright light to indicate telephone in-use status and to alert him to message waiting signals.
