Windows Media Player 11 Conflict with Windows Media Encoder 9 Series

Symptom
"Unexpected_Error_in_Audio_Codec" error prompted while recording a call with Algo ECR or CCR Software.
Description of Problem
There is a conflict between the new Microsoft Windows Media Player 11 available via Windows Updates, and the Microsoft Media Encoder used by the Algo recording software. You can learn more about this issue by reading the knowledge base article direct from Microsoft.
Problem Solution
To resolve this issue you must apply a hot fix for Windows Media Player 11 supplied by Microsoft.
- Shut down the recording on the PC to be fixed by right clicking on the call recorder icon
located in the system tray at the bottom right hand corner of the desktop. Select "Shutdown All Recording on This Computer". You can also shutdown the recording within the software by selecting the Tools tab at the top and then selecting "Recording System Commands". In this selection, you will see the option to shutdown the recording. - Run the Hot Fix program issued from Microsoft for Windows Media Player 11.
- When you click on the above link, a window will open prompting you to Run, Save, or Cancel. Click Run.
- Once this operation is complete, you will be able to restart the recorders by starting either your Algo ECR or CCR software application. The system tray icons will then re-appear.
